I have an LO3 with a dual snorkel setup and a Borla cat-back. If I add the LB9 heads, headers, and an LT1 cam do you think I can get to 220hp? And will the stock chip be worthless by then?

are you talking 220 at the crank , or are you trying ot put 220 down to the tires?

with those mods, 220 at the crank is doable, to get 220 to the wheels, you migh tbe able to , with the right tuning done to it.

Well if I have 220hp at the crank, what are we talking at the wheels. And if the LO3 is rated at 170hp is that at the crank or at the wheels.

if your going to the trouble of a head swap , do youself a favor. get a new cam and timing chain, and install a 4bbl manifold and adaptor.

Yes they are a lot better. Port them a little and they will be leaps and bounds better than your lo3 heads. Not as good as say vortecs, or WP SR Torquer 305's but should be a great upgrade.

Can you give a rough estamate of power gained on a L03, if you add a hotter cam and LB9 heads? Whats the value of LB9 heads, so I don't get jiped on the prize. Finally do L98 heads have to big of combustion chamber to use on a 305 and would lower compression to much?

getting 220hp at the rear wheels means around 290-300hp, which would take a lot more than a set of stock 305 heads. Just to mention it so nobody gets the wrong idea.

i thought l03s got 170 at the wheels i think you ment 190 at the crank..

ported heads out of a lb9, new cam, and say edlebrock intake with tbi adapter and you are looking at a nice combo that will add alot of hp and If you had the right gears and posi you have a faster car then a 305 tpi auto from what i've expierenced
