Trying to make a good combo
Trying to make a good combo
As of right now i have a 89 Formula 305 tbi(needs to be emmisions legal), mods include 3 inch headers, cat, and exhaust, lt1 cam, double roller timing chain, tbi performer intake(coming off soon), turbo city tbi, inj. spacer, adj. prssure reg w/tds spring, fp guage and braided lines, open element, pulleys 373 posi(higher stall torque converter in the future).. now i have a set of the old style world torquers on the way that i plan on using a carb manifold with.. keep in mind when the heads go on ill be switching to 1.6 roller tipped rockers which will increase the cams lift to about 470/490 i believe? What are my options on the 1.6 rockers with the older style heads.. i will be using the centerbolt valver covers on them too if that makes a difference since the heads come outfitted so that you can use either type. so with this head and cam combo which carb intake would be the best.. i figured on the weiand single plain with the egr provision but i dont know if a regular edlebrock performer would be better matched to the combo, ive read many posts on carb intake swap i know of the brake booster vac. line problem.. is this a problem with the performer since everything else basically matches up??Im looking for something as close to bolt on as i can but if the single plain will give me a very noticable diff. with the tbi than i will do it..for the adaptor plate i was planning on using the cfm tech one and mounting the tbi in the center.. my goal is over 300 horsepower at the motor.. looking at nj speeders old times of 14.2 with basically just heads im very optimistic.. after all is said and done hopefully the new prominator project will be out so i can get tuning.. but any help on my project would be greatly appreciated
