I am considering switching from the 305TBI to the 350TPI any opinions on this. That motor comes with everything it says including wiring harness. They also are based only 45mins from my house so I could go pick the motor up so free shipping for me. Just let me know any opinion yall have on doing this.

so long as the miles arnt too high its an ok buy. If it has over 60k id pass on it. Used low milage vortecs can be had for less if you dont mind using the tbi. The 240HP TPI 350 or a vortec is a nice upgrade from the l03.

I would look into getting a 350 TBi setup. I think it will be cheaper in the long run. You can reuse your harness and everything. Add a bigger TBI unit, better fuel delivery and lots of tuning and there you go.

having driven my car (87 tpi) and my best friends (92 tbi) for a stock replacement tpi cant be beat, it has soooo much more torque, even tho mine has 2.73s and my friends has 3.08s, both with the same 5 spd.

Honestly, I don't think it's a bad deal, especially considering it comes with the complete TPI set up as well. You may want to consider having it rebuilt though, as you don't know how the engine has been run. It would also give you a chance to swap cams and maybe port and polish the heads. Take in other considerations though, such as fuel pump, throttle linkage, esc module, etc.

thanx for the opinions, also this engine comes with a wiring harness so why would I need to reuse my old one?

instead of looking at it as a drop in crate motor, i would look at it like a complete TPI conversion setup with a 350 core......
i would rebuild the motor before i dropped it in there...
