Yup. A fan switch.

FYI, you just described the same side of the car.

The pass side is the right side. The driver's side is the left.

When talking about sides, it's in relationship to the car's right or left, not yours.

Just like the front and rear of the car. The car's front is "the front", the car's rear is "the rear".

So therefore, the car's right side is "the right side", and the car's left side is "the left side".

Get it.

I'm not nit-picking you, I'm just telling you so you'll know when a mechanic says "your right front tire is leaking" you'll know what side he's talking about.

well as far as that, i meant the drivers side being the side with the guage sensor, but if that one on the passengers side is the fan switch, guess im not too worried now, since my fan switch stopped working months ago, and i bypassed it using a toggle switch til i could afford a new one, but i couldnt find the fan switch at the time, by book was no help at all on that. So you guys just helped me out twice on one subject, thanx a lot you guys always help me when i need it, thanx for being quick on the response, i love that.

I broke this same sensor when I put my headers in. I didn't realized I broke it until I noticed that my fan was comming on right when I started the car (at 20* f LOL) so I knew i messed something up. The plug is damaged and it is barely pushed on just to make a connection. The bad thing is that is needs to be replaced. The good thing is that the default of the busted plug is to have the fans on at all times. Not good for fan life, but good for driving.

thats not necesarily true, mine went for a couple of weeks with the fan on all the time, then the fan never came on again, i had to buy wire and a toggle switch to bypass it, probably burned out the relay or something, not sure, but the fan still works fine, just i have to remember to flick the switch when i drive, and especially when i turn off the car.

That damn thing was in there good. When I had my heads off I had to stand on top of them with a 3' breaker bar to get it loose lol.
