What RPM should a 700R4/LO3 shift at full throttle?
What RPM should a 700R4/LO3 shift at full throttle?
When I first bought my Formula It ran 16.2's @ 83mph consistantly... a year later the car runs consistant 16.7's @ 83mph! It is my 0-60 times which are suffering. The car used to spin the hell out of the right rear tire when id punch it, now it just hooks up like its got no power. I was reading through my shop manual and It said something about how a torque converter can go bad (cluthes 2 & 3 run together)... resulting in performance loss from 0-35 mph.
My car is shifting at like 4000, is this normal.
If anyone has an Idea of what could be wrong with my car please let me know.
Thanks, Ben

4000 rpm shift point is normal for the 700-r4 that comes with the l03. Have you done a tune-up recently?
Yea I have done:
MSD Wires, AC plugs, GM fuel pump, cap/rotor pwrmaster 140 amp alternator.
Between the dead fuel pump and the gm replacement fuel pump I had a gratelli HI FLO pump that was pushing way to much fuel for about 2 months. My fuel pressure gauge at that time was way past the 15 psi limit. I wonder if that could have messed up my injectors or my regulaor. The regulator now reads 11 psi.

Mine shifts right at the 5000 rpm redline. It's got me concerned b/c it seems too late for performance & the possiblitiy of gernading the engine.
I recently adjusted the TV cable per the procedure available in the Tech Articles. The shifts seem a little firmer, but the shift points are still the same.
