Best combo for 350 TBI?
I've been out for a while but I'm ready to get busy on my Camaro.
I'm looking for some of the best engine combos for 350 TBI.
Just looking for some ideas. List your specs and times if available.
I already have headers installed, thinking of removing cat and going 3" all the way.
I already have rear disc brakes with 3.73 and posi.
Rebuilt 700R4, currently looking for 5 or 6 speed.

the real question is budget. you can go as wild as AFR 210's, a HUGE single plane intake, 900cfm TBI (or 1000 CFM dry TB, with the manifold drilled for MPFI) and a monster cam. but all that costs money.
the OTHER option is some descent heads, and a small underhood blower like the wieand 142, that should hit the 500hp mark pretty easily.
more realisticly is the vortec route, there are people that have alot of success with them. but remeber, the what really makes an engine is a cam, spend time talking with several diffrent cam companies about your combo, and get a good cam for you app.

Once you know what kind aof power you want you need to plan out a fuel system and a tuning route to make it all happen. If you get to scary a head and cam combo you may have a hard time feeding and tuning it with a TBI system.

my engine is in my sig, if I had to do it all again I wouldn't change a thing, but if i was putting my motor in a 3rd gen I would go with singal plane intake, and a little bigger cam. Also I just ran a 14.4 on 7 cylinders (plug wire fell onto header). SHould have a high 13 on the gtech this weekend, if the temp is cool.

So far, everybody is leading you in the right direction. A good engine to go off of is the 350H.O. rated at 330hp and 380ft/tq. There are a couple of people running that engine, and in all honesty, it matches to the 2bbl tbi potential pretty good. It's going to be a feat if you can make over 350hp w/ 2bbl tbi. The only thing I would do differently with the 350ho would be to swap to a hydraulic roller cam.

Here is a link to that motor. And yes it is a hydraulic roller set-up. I think jprevost is running it.

Wow, thanks everyone for your input.
This is really what I was looking for.
Low C1500, Maybe I'll go for a similar setup as you, w/ hydraulic roller cam. Also, did you have to change out your fuel pump with that setup?
Are those stock heads in your setup?
Do you have the PN for the best intake.
Does yours still have the smog pump and setup, or did you delete?
Did you get a new chip? Sorry I see the (Custom UVEPROM).
Also did you buy your 454 TBI new or used?
Sorry for all the questions at once, but I want to try and get it in at once. I'd hate to keep posting a different question.
I really appreciate all the help guys!:hail:
Also the reason I'm thinking of going for the same setup as you Low C1500, is because the 350 vortec block and heads came out of an 89 model truck.

First off the 89 heads are not Vortec, there crappy swirl port. My heads are off a 97 truck.
ANd it is hard to make over 350 hp with a tbi setup, but not impossible.
Yeah I've got the walbro 255 pump in my tank (http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/)
I ported the heck out of everthing in my motor, lots off the throttle body, buts its still 2" butterflys. A ton on the heads, and even a good polish into the headers alittle ways.
I got my 454 tb off ebay for $140, because it had 305 injectors in it, so I just raised my 350 injectors up to 34 psi, with the new pump.
I have no smog control on my vehicle. Also my bottom end is stock as can be (regular 62000rpms)
Also don't get a cam with less than 112 lsa, I've got 114 and its hard enough to tune at low rpms.
