Open Element Air Filter w/ Headers???

I have been sitting here for about 2 hrs now searching through a lot of the debates of Open Element vs. Stock or Dual Snorkel.... But here is my question: What is best if you are using Headers??? Right now, all I have is the Single Snorkel stock air cleaner... I would really like to upgrade to Open Element, but I am kinda leary about sucking in the extremely hot temps from my Hedman Hedders. So... for all of you experts, or members that have this or a similar setup, Please reply with as many opinions or FACTS as possible.. And no, I cannot afford to purchase a Dual Snorkel. Would the upgrade to the Open Element be a wise choice in my position??? I live in St. Louis, which gets extremely hot and humid in the summer and pretty darn cold in the winter.. By the way, this is my daily driver which spends a chunk of the time sitting in stop and go traffic daily (mainly stopped at red lights).

Thank you in advance for any replies,

Will

go with a open element. If your that worried about heat from the headers then send them to jet hot and have them ceramic coated.

dual snorkels are hard to find, and expensive if you do. Open element is the best route, and i can garuntee you wont notice a difference from the evil underhood temps.

Using an open element and headers is fine. IMO go for the the open element

Thank you for your replies so quickly!!! I think I will get one of the Edelbrock Drop Base 14 by 3's when I get a chance..

Does anyone have anything negative to say about that or my setup?? Or maybe any concerns?

Once again, Thanks,
Will

I think the way to go is to get a NON-DROP base. That way u can get rid of that ring and get more air flowing into your TB

With the Non-Drop Base.... Wouldn't there been an issue w/ the wires and coil?? Anyone ever use the Non-Drop have any problems or anything? I am still trying to decide which one to get.

Thank you for the responses,
Will

Do a search, theres at least 3 open element questions that get posted every 4 days.

Heres a long one ... https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...t=open+element

When you sit in traffic your car will feel sluggish anyways. A little colder air vs warmer air is not going to make a huge difference. These cars love it in the cold and your open element will be awesome in the colder months.
