valvoline max life w/ valvoline oil treatment. wait till you see the awsome oil pressure youll have then. in my truck at 200 degrees it barely held 10 psi at idle with mobil 1. now, with the above oil and additive, it never goes below 25 psi even at 220. give it a try, you wont be dissapointed!

mobile 1 makes a great product, but switching to it on a high milage engine can be troublesome, mobil actualy cleans your engine, and the gunk it disolves can get stuck in oil passages ect, and cuase some problems.

Also switching to a synthetic oil on a high mileage engine might cause the engine to start having oil leaks. Plus your paying alot more per quart.

I agree switching to synthic at this stage would cause you more harm than good, plus at that mileage you can't replace worn metal. I think slick 50 is also good for an older motor with high miles.

If you're motor IS leaking now, you definitely don't want to go to synthetic.

There are several high mileage oils on the market now that claim to condition/revitalize seals - I think that an oil like that would be your best bet. Maybe go up a grade too, from 5w30 to 10w30. Probably wouldn't hurt as long as you don't get really cold weather.

... just my two cents.

You shouldn't be using 5w30 anyway. If you've got minor oil leaks, use 10w40, otherwise 10w30.
