Track times at lower elevations
I just moved from Calgary, Alberta to Barrie, Ontario.
Along the way I got to race at 2 different tracks.
One was in Saskatchewan and the other at Toronto Motorsports park.
Elevation is 1600ft in Sask (I think) and 600 ft at TMP.
It had been a hot-humid day in Sask
and I ran a 16.5--only 0.2 better than Calgary (3500ft)
At TMP I ran a 16.3 (0.4 better than Calgary)
Werid thing is a few years ago I raced in Edmonton 2300ft and
got a 16.5 and at the time the car would run 17.0 at Calgary.
So running at TMP it only picked up 0.4 tenths but a the higher elevation of Edmonton it picked up 0.5???
Maybe the engine is getting a wee bit tired?
I was hoping for a 16.1 or so but it'd still be slow

There are just too many variables and very limited run information to draw any meaningful conclusions. For any significant comparison, it would be best to look at the average of at least 5 runs in a row at each track under the same temperature conditions. I know that is not likely, but it is a real stretch to try to compare single runs at each track in different weather conditions to determine the effect of elevation.
Probably better off relying on theorhetical models of what happens at various elevations.
BTB- What track did you like the most?

Good point---maybe a few more runs at TMP would have yielded faster results--on a better day. I was gonna go back to TMP tomorrow but 70% chance of rain---I doubt it.
Here the run down on the tracks:
Race City in Calgary has the best return road--it's in pretty good shape but when your spectating you sit the farthest away.
Too much unpaved grave in the lot though. And even slow cars like mine you need a helmet. If you have a passenger--its a solo run.
Edmonton--you sit much closer--worse return road--less gravel.
Saskatoon (SIR) was good--very close to Edmontons setup.
Best part--no helmet for 14 and slower and when you had a passenger you could still race another car.
TMP--the track people are idiots--you get your timeslip at the end of the 1/4--pretty nice facilities though. No helmet 14 and slower.
And get THIS---NO TECH. Guy looked at my car for 15 sec--enough to write shoe polish on the windows--didn't check for anything else. It has areal bad right lane--my car spun in the 60ft--worse then any where else.
I am 2.2 60 ft--but one bad one thee was 2.4 and I ran a 16.4--I am thinking that really coulda been a 16.2 run.
I drove out to Mission, BC once to race--sea-level but it rained. Those idiots want you to run straight water!
