ESC Module that could lower knock count, are they out there?

You know how with the LT1's you can get a LT4 knock module to lower false knock count. Well is there any ESC modules that we TBI users can use to lower ours? From the way that I understand the TBI system the ESC module on 3ed gens does the same thing as the knock module on the 4th gens, right?
I was wondering about a 350 or 454SS ESC module. On www.tpis.com/CatalogPages/CatalogPage.asp then go to page 29 they have a ESC module for a few late 80 years cars. I think all the ESC module's will interswap I know they have different part#'s but I still think they interswap. I've been reading up on this and from what I understand the larger the engine the less sensitive the ESC module is. I'm not forsure of this though, at all!
But arter I put headers, Flowmaster exahust and K&N intake on my '97 LT1 Z28 it seemed like it got slower when I really got into it. I then installed the LT4 knock module and found my power back. I'm wondering if this can be done on or 3ed gens?
I know that when my flywheel was cracked on my '91RS it seemed like it got a lot slower than before(it sounded like it was knocking real bad). I know that the 3ed gen can reduse timing like 20* while the 4th gens only reduse it by 10*. Ya help me out on this one, I may be on to something good here. I know how to use a resistor and make it pick up no knock cound at all, but this could be bad here as if I'm getting REAL knock I want it redused so I don't hurt my engine. At least look at the item I gave the link to above, you'll have to go to page 29 after you get there.
Thanks,
Bobby Adams

When guys swap in 350's in their TBI cars it is recommended to get a 350 esc module and knock sensor out of a Caprice with a 350. I believe these 350 versions are a bit less sensitive.

Look for a BLH module from early carb'd third gens. Also note that the '8746 ECM & the '7747 ECM force the engine to knock as part of their diagnostic routine.

RBob,
What does BLH stand for? Also what years are they in(I'm thinking all computered carbs)? I have the 8746 ECM. What did the 7747 ECM come in? Your talking about the ECM's forceing knock(this is the first I've ever heard of this) for diagnstic, why do they need to do this? Will the 454SS module work or not? Does the BLH module work like the LT4 module does in my '97 Z28? I'd really like you to tell me more about ALL this.

RBob,
What will the BLH module do? Is it not as senitive as the on I've got? Do you think I could get more power with another module? I'm getting headers & roller rockers soon. Basiclly, I'd like you to tell me what module you think I need to make to most power. Thanks, Bobby

Yes, just change out the ESC module. A junkyard shouldn't charge more then a few dollars for one.

Depends on your engine combo. I'd say just if its a 305 then go 305 module. If its a 350 engine go 350 module simple as that.

The BLH module can be used for either the 305 or 350. Tryyy it, you'll liiiike it. The late 80's early 90's 454 TBI trucks didn't run a ESC system (for some reason I get the feeling there is probably one out there that did, just to make it difficult to make general statements such as I just made ).
