What do these intake bore passages do?
Ok I am getting ready to bore my edelbrock TBI intake to 2". Beofre I attempt this I have a quick question. Upon a closer look there appears to be two openings that are att he top of each bore. They are a rough hole and have do to something with air since they are right under the TBI unit and in the bore. I do not want to cut to close if I will open this hole up. I may not bore it to 2" but instead to 1.75 with a chamfer to smooth out the opening. besides the fron tand rear crossovers does anyone know where the water passages go in an intake manifold. They wouldn't be near the bores would they. If they are I may have to rethink this.

I wouldnt worry about them to much, As long as u doing bore to much into them you dont have to worry about them cracking, a friend tried more then 2" he went to about 2.2 and cracked, so just a lil food for thought

I believe those are EGR ports. Just blow in it and see where air comes out
...or you could use an air compressor, I just think it would be more fun to make a flute out of your intake :lala:

It IS the EGR. I have one bored to 2.040 safely. It's for sale cause I can't bore this thing for my 1.75 dia distributor.
edit: just noticed yours is Edelbrock. Mine's a stocker.

I don't think the size of those outlets really matter, I mean they can only flow out what they get in and that's controlled by the EGR valve...but I could be wrong.

shifty, jb weld is basically a cold welding product. it comes in two parts and you place one part on the area, mix in the next and mix them together and a chemical reaction occurs making a "compound as hard and tough as steel ". kyle used it on the f.o.r.d on the gas tank, b/c the idiot who had it before him put an amp in and just used drywall screws in and screwed them in which punctured the gas tank. he said it still is holding well to this day and is very easy to use. here's the website. http://www.jbweld.net/coldweld.html

Here is a pic of what the inside of my throttle body looks like. You can see where the jb weld filled in the massive gaping hole in the stock throttle body and smoothed it out pretty well. It holds up great and is rock solid.
