Need more power, help me?

Hello!

I have -91 Pontiac Firebird 305 TBI. Is there any easy and cheap ways to get little bit more power. What are the differences between TBI vs. TPI? Is it possible change injektion system? I noticed that 305 TBI motor gives 170 horsepower and 305 TPI gives 205 hp? What should I do? Please, give me some tips?

Sorry, my english is terrible, try to understand. I live in Finland. Weather is F*cking cold. Almoust -25 degrees celsius this morning. But Pontiac is still going...

Hey welcome to the boards. You will find that with a few simple tools you can complete the "free mods" for your car that will wake it up a bit. You should start with an open air element that will cost your about $25. There is a sticky at the top of this page that will help you out there. You can also find a how to install page here that will help you.
http://snflupigus.tripod.com/tech/op...tep1/step1.htm
You can also do the ultimate TBI mods found here

https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...imatetbi.shtml
and here
https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...matetbi2.shtml
and here
https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/tbi-afpr.shtml

You can also add a little base timing which will give you better throttle response, a little bit better mileage and a few more ponies. All of these mods can add some power that can feel. After that you want to start with your exhaust and go from there. There is a search commad at the top of the page that will help you find answers to your specific questions that have been answered on a dialy basis. You can read cool stuff and find out what you can and can't do to your car in a matter of minutes. As for swapping to TPI or any other FI application it can be done but at a cost. You will see that you can cheapy upgrade your TBI to have great street mannors with a little bite to it.
Here is a link to show you how to convert to TPI from your TBI.

Good luck and happy modding. Feel free to ask any questions you have.
