Holley 85pph Injectors

I found a Holley 670 for sale fairly cheap and may buy it but I found it that it has the older-style 85pph injectors. Are these injectors really as bad as I've heard? Should I not buy this unit for that reason just because they have the old injectors?

Buy it and save it for later. You can always use other injectors if you want to use it now with the mods you have but if you can get the base unit for a good price buy it up.

Sorry I didn't specify, I meant this to be for the 350 L98 longblock I'll be putting in. Do you think the injectors will hold up well with it or will they die?

Well even if they do die you can always get some 350 injectors out of a junk yard. I do not know much about the lifespan of holley injectors. I do know that he older ones were a bit over rated and had their share of problems.

you could also get some cheap 350 GM injectors and modify your stock injector pod housing to be installed on the Holley 670. I dont think the modification is too hard. Im pretty sure you wont be able to swap GM injectors in place of the old holley ones. I thought that they didnt fit the injector pod.

Where did you find it?
How much do 670 Holley's usually run?

I think you can use the injector pod off of the 350/454 stock TBI with some minor modifications.

I wouldnt pay much more then $100 for it. Youll pretty much only be buying the base. I wouldnt trust the injectors. Cheap injectors that dont work properly are no fun.

Ok guys thanks for the responses, I don't think I'm going to buy it now. The price is too high to pay for just the base basically. But now I remember seeing Holley bases go on ebay for about $80 so I may just look out for those and swap on a GM injector pod.

Bron,

You can always buy the base off of ebay or what not, and buy a new injector pod (for the delphis). The injector pod is roughly $80, and can be purchased through Auto Zone, etc.

I still have the 57pph delphi injectors that came with my unit. You can have them if you are interested in going this route. Granted, they are a little "small", but I strongly believe holley underates their delphi injectors. And if you plan on swapping fuel pumps, you can always bump the pressure up a little to make up for the smaller injector size.

Thanks for the offer r90, I'll keep that in mind definitely. I think for now though I'm going to wait on the decision. I'm thinking I don't want to buy anymore parts just yet until I know for sure that the engine will be going in soon and that its a sure thing.
