You can put a LT4 knock module not sensor in a LT1. The knock sensor is a completley different thing. You need a 350 knock sensor for your 350. Your 305 one will not work.

What do you consider light knock? If you are talking about false ping from such things as exhaust, then you may want to look into throwing together a dummy switch. If it is actual knock, it is not worth chancing it over. Slightly retarding the base timing, or better yet, tuning the tables in the chip is a better and safer route

Its slight pinging from the Exhaust and other mods... I have really pushed the limits of the stock tables... I need to datalog and get someone to burn me a chip, but till then i was wondering if i could put in a 350 knock sensor so it would ignore this pinging and junk. let me know guys this is getting really annoying

Do a search I asked this same question a while back and got some good info on which ESC to use.

I'm gonna have to search for that thread as well. I have been getting false ping ever since I swapped in my 383, and the only way I could ever get around it was with a dummy sensor. Know that I am getting a real miss after a few mods, it has been a pain, and I have needed to leave the sensor pluged in. Unfortuantly, I think it's a double whammy, in that I get the false knock and real knock. But I'm currently working the issue.

Also, I did swap in the recommended 350 knock sensor and esc module, but I think its a combo of the exhaust cut out and aluminum roller rockers causing the problem.

A friend has told me a couple of times LT1 guys use teflon tape to deaden the knock sensor a little. I'm not too sure on that though, as this buddy says some things that don't make a whole lot of sense. But it may be worth checking out a 4th gen board and seeing what you find. Shoot, I'm guessing there are probably posts somewhere on this forum. Best of luck

I've got a '97 Z28 and I'm a member at http://www.fbody.com (on the LT1 & 3ed gen boards)
I don't think the teflon tape works. I'm running a LT4 knock module in the '97. I started getting false knock after headers, but the LT4 knock module took care of it.

You can go to http://www.tpis.com and then click on the catalog and go to page 28 or 29 and they sell a ESC module for less knock pickup.

I was told to use a ESC module from a computer controlled carb 3ed gen on the thread I was telling ya to search for. But in that thread there was some really good tech info on how the ECM makes knock.

I don't know how to link the threads so I brought the old thread back up to the top of the board.

All you have to do it go up to your address bar and highlight it and copy it. Then as you are posting just hit paste and it will come right up.
