84 305 H.O heads on 91 305
Hi,
I was wondering if 84 305 HO heads will fit on my 91 305...I have the heads off because im changing the head gaskets and was wondering if these head would fit.All and any info will be greatly appreciated.

yes, but you will either need a new intake manifold, or drill yours out to fit the center two bolts.
also, you will need to drill out the pushrod guides, or use non SA rockers.

Definatly want to drill out the guides with SA rockers. My 305 came from the factory with heads that had slots and SA rockers. I can easily see where the pushros have been dragging on the guide slot.

This is kinda off topic, but what is the difference between SA and non SA rockers?
You'd also need new valve covers, but im assuming they prolly already have them on the heads seeing as they arent new.

Self Aligning rockers have little rails on each side of the rocker tip that keep the rocker centered on the valve stem face.

if you don't already have those heads, look for a set of 081 heads. they come off of 87 and newer lb9 305 tpis, flow a lot better than what you have and will bolt right on without your having to drill out anyhting.

Yes the 081 heads should bolt right up no problem. So I would definetly go that route if I were you good luck.
