Engine is not what it was suppose to be
I had seen a few sights on tuning TBI etc, but as the motor is not close to where it's suppose to be because of misleading sales clerk before I left W. Cost, I have wanted that fixed right last year.
I got an email that is being done now, cleaned carbon off Federal Mogul H345NP40 pistons, 67cc with a .015-.020 gasket should give me a better compression above 9.0:1. Quench should be 40, Edelbrock 3704 Manifold and from sights I saw on tuning through ALDL, some said winALDL may not work and others said it will work on settings if I play with it. They also suggested a lap top to tune it under loads etc and make small changes, but I hope it will give me read outs at first to see where issues may exist. Turbo City made a chip a year ago when I was putting motor together based on what I was doing to motor, basically more advance and a modified TBI setup.
Finer tuning, should make it come alive as I don't have funds for a Command 950.

I may end up selling Edelbrock 3704 manifold and Elite Center bolt valve covers depending on if they fit torker heads or not as well as 1.6 comp roller rockers, but I planned motor to have a least 9.0:1 compression and from what I read, over 9.25:1 with cam helps even more. Not sure about manifold as I may long gate middle bolt hole to fit, just depends or go to Holley 300-418 with TBI adapter. Heads are first then go as I need and so motor's got 9000 miles on HYP F.M Pistons and Moly rings, now hopfully finally done right!
Mean while, I had a open-42 code, found by chevy error sites and using paper clip to get code and multi-meter, which ended up being a pain and MSD coil burnt out taking out modulator/pickup. Fixed, or, MSD/Proform replaced Coil/Distributor and still got a code 42, which was track down to wire short/brake between firewall when I checked at computer end and distributor end of wire, now heads and finally, like pulling teeth, I hope to get some idea of tuning Lower 93 GMC truck better.
Especially after finally get the email as follows on heads:
Hi Michael,
I just want you to confirm that you will be happy with a pair of 083 cylinder heads to be sent out to you to replace your existing pair of 217 heads.
Please confirm ASAP so that they can be shipped immediately.
