need a referral for an air cleaner for above. part # aftermarket? first i purchased was a standard 3 inch but it dropped down about 1/2 inch or so and hits the throttle shaft lever. was not a drop down type but did. injector pod is 2 & 3/4 inch from lip of TB so 3.0 inch is minimum. do all air cleaners typicaly drop down a bit over lip of carb/TB like a 1/2 inch? i have a clearance issue with hood possibly but not sure have not yet got that far.

Ronny, if the only thing that hits the air cleaner base is the throttle shaft lever, you might try relieving that area with a good curved surface and a hammer or if you know someone with a hydrolic press, well you get the meaning. Might be worth a try.

the interference area matches up with the air cleaner element bottom. so that recontour wont work for 14 in air cleaner. first one i recd was a comp cams polymer plastic unit and interfered as it is about a 3/4 drop. second one one is a proform (recd today)and it dropped 1 inch BUT has a relief area both sides for what i dont know. may match up/ may not.. will know tonight. any other ideas?
