Will a Jet chip for a 90 work in my 89??
My buddy has the stage 1 chip off his 90 TBI auto car and I just bought my 89 TBI but it's a 5 speed, will the chip work in my motor??

No, since its an auto, the calibration is slightly different i would imagine and its set up to do the TCC, not the shift light. Would probably work but your shift light would come on at odd times. Not really worth it since all it probably does is remove the governer, if applicable, and maybe add in some extra timing and fuel up top.

I've got A 91 5-speed pickup and put a chip in it from a 89 with
an auto the engine service lite came on and didn't go out for the 60 sc I let it run
But I try taken the Whole Ecm form the 89 and try that for a 3 mile trip and the shift light only came on at WOT.

Shift light is on the same output as the torque converter clutch solenoid, which locks a clutch in the torque converter so it doesnt slip. When the light came on, it was probably for the manditory high speed lockup or something. In the manuals, the code is set up so the logic for the shift light is used instead. Easiest way to fix it is to get a prom for a manual.
The check engine light staying on and giving a flash may have been an error reading the prom, like maybe it was in backwards or something.
