I think I know what you are talking about. Was it the modified stock unit with just another hole cut out for another duct to go towards the passenger side? I will see if I can dig it up.

I made this one..
I just found extra snorkal tubes on other breathers that are for 4" hose and cut and drilled the breather base for them.

IMHO......I run mine with only one hose. I have found these engines to not need that much air.

?? When I had my stock setup in my car still after 4500rpm's it wouldn't pull anymore. With my Open Element it'll pull all the way past 5500 (not that I take it that far)...
The stock setup is like trying to feed an engine with a straw!

Hi Bruce

I hope no one took me wrong...I meant only one 4" or larger intake hose and snorkal...not the stock pos good for only a four cyl.

The open element is about the cheapest mod one can do and it flows more than about anything else for the price. It's mostly a personal choice.

Later... Darrell

Hey Darrell, that looks pretty good for a home made job. VERY nicely done. Looks like it ought to be stock. Good work.

I went with the L69 set up. The breather assembly I got from Dave Staubli. I got lucky. I got most of the parts at the local Chevy dealer just before they discontinued them. That drivers side plastic duct was the only thing I did not get. I have gotten one since but the are like gold.

I also had it dipped in black chrome.

Ohh no, I just missunderstood, my bad! I thought you meant the stock straw going to the intake. Yeah, I bet 4" ducting might do a wee bit of good!

There is a company that makes nice looking fiberglass units with dual snorkels, You can buy 4" hoses for $15, and inlet pipes as well.

http://www.ramairbox.com

They have everything you need for a professional dual snorkel set up from air cleaners to complete kits. No to mention you can get them in flat, and drop base for a taller filter. I think they look good, but havent got one yet. Im still use the ultra lame flipped lid and a K&N cant be to bad though my car is making some decient times.
