Confusion
My head is spinnig right now.
I am working on building up my L03, and i the amount of info i am trying to absorb is making the room spin.
Right now my L03 has:
OPen filter 14x3 with K&n xstream lid
headers, full 3 inch exhaust
160 thermosat(about to put in 180 OR 170)
275/60/r15 on back
235/60r15 up front
I plan in the very near future:
3.42 with posi
LT1 cam and springs on reworked heads
Edelbroke intake
Ultimate tbi mods
bigger fuel pump
AFPR
matched injectors
chip burning
sub frame connectors
since the L03 dont really like above 4500(so i have read)
i am concerned that the setup will run out of the curve.
i am looking at it wrong? i am not that great when it comes to this . I am learning as i go.
will a higher stall converter help/hinder.
what about fuel economy? will the 3.42 tear that up?
i know concerning about fuel economy while trying to get the most out of the block. This car is just about my daily driver, besides a full size bronco which gets about 12 mpg. right now with the camaro i get about 16mpg.
I have code 43(esc) i figure that is because of the headers(from what i have read on here) i have tried to correct the problem but it persists.
Help please.

In its stock form the LO3 does not like past 4500 rpm. With a differnt cam and heads you can pull to 6,000 all day long. I know lots of heads and cammed LO3's that shift at 6200 or higher. Wether it is necessary or not they do it because the car will pull that high. Your list looks pretty good. Tuning will ultimately determine what mileage you get. With an open element and a cat back my LO3 would get 31mpg all day long.

shifty nailed it.
also, you will want a higher stall, i have driven auto's with 305's and LT1 cams, and a stock converter (namely in an S10) it could really use some more RPMs initialy.

Thanks guys for the response,
I hope to get into chip burning soon, but am a little hesitant to do so. i have looked through the DIY board, and still hesitant. I am not exactly sure what to look for, etc.
What type of converter should i look for? from what i have read that the S10 converter will work fine. Is this correct
I am not planning anything major right now, just going to drop in a posi with 3.42. I have to get my Bronco taken care
(brakes and exhaust) so i have the extra vehicle to drive for that inevitabel drive to the part store for that dreaded forgotten part. I did pick up an LT1 cam last night, but i am waiting on a set of heads to start reworking before i tear into the block.
