VAFPR does well!

Well, after the headers I knew I was running a little lean, because even though I could tell she was breathing A LOT better, she was entirely too lean up top.

So I installed the VAFPR from TDS and man does she pull, especially all the way to the limiter. I've got her set for 9.5 psi at idle and 14 or so at WOT. I really couldn't tell a difference at idle, but past 50, she doesn't stumble when I get on it anymore.

to TDS and Lon.

Is there any benefit of having an aftermarket one to doing the free mod? just curious...

I can't really answer that, because I never made the stock one adjustable.

Either way, I'm happy with the mod.

Yea there is. The advantage of the adjustable unit is so that you can change FP without touching the prom. Most aftermarket ones set the PSI at a certain value, most cases 15 or so for WOT. Because of that WOT setting you can run very rich at idle. The vacuum unit allows you to keep the FP down and just like it says will adjust according to vacuum. You can put a delay valve in that will keep the vacuum from spiking or falling off to fast and causing your pressure to go haywire. I have mine set so that I run about 11 psi at idle and 15 at WOT. A regular adjustable one is all you need when you burn your own chips.

EDIT: I missread your question. I gave you the advantage of the vacuum one over another style adjustable unit. Well the aftermarket ones are a bit more tollerant to high FP demands that aftermarket pumps bring. The modified stocker can be used but an aftermarket one yields more precise adjustments. The modified stocker is a shot in the dark.
