Hey guys, new to the TBI here
Greetings out there in F-Body land. I'm not new to F-bodies, but I am new to the TBI motor. The Sticky that you guys have posted was very informative. I have a few mods doen to the car, including and open air element, use of the cowl induction on the Formula Hood, and a Cat-Back. I am going to concentrate more on the suspension, and rear end for the moment, but i plan on supercharging the motor, as soon as budget allows. I have been doing some research on Vortechs S/C systems for the TBI truck and figure I can find a way to make it work. I had a TPI car and really wasn't impressed, and I can allow my 4 banger to be faster than my V8, so
a-bossting I will go. :-)

TBIs dont respond well to superchargers. If you are going to keep the 305 you might as well buy some new heads, camshaft, intake, tbi, headers and EPROM burning equipment. This will all run alot less than a S/C and net you a larger increase in power. Also, you dont need to add power to go faster, 3.42 or 3.73 gears and a higher stall torque converter will do wonders.

Heads and cam are on the agenda before the S/C will ever see the car. I used to work for Bill Mitchell Hardcore Racing (World Products) so I gotta hook up for the Torquer 305 Heads. Cam I haven't decided on. Before I even think about that though, I will be picking up either a T56 or a Richmond 6 speed. The rear is most likely getting a 3.42, depends on which tranny I get. Auto tranny really isn't to conducive to road racing and autoX.
And what about the TBI doesn't respond to S/C?
Thanks Guys

there is no way for the ECM to read and compensate for more boost the map sensor is a single bar, N2O is different if you have the complete kit it will add more fuel. as far as making the truck huffer work, i dont believe it will fit under the stock hood, this isnt the first thread about S/Cing a TBI.

It is really hard to effectively tune a supercharged TBI motor. It would be much easier to build a motor that will make much more power with that money instead.

I would do a search on supercharging TBI. I remember a guy a few months back that posted a few times and he had a pretty nice s/c setup on a fairly stock LO3 and he was pulling 13's I think.
