Go with either. If you are worried that your stock regulator cannot keep up than go with the 190. I know people who run both and neither of them have any problems. The regulator problems associated with the 255 are few and far between. The 190 will still support more power than your 305 will ever make.

in response to this, If I put the 255 in my TBI car now, and go TPI later, I will have the right fuel pressure now(approx. 13 psi) and the correct pressure(45 ish) later, right?

Oh yea. You will be pushin' upwards of 60 PSI. The 255 can support a multi port set-up up to 800hp.

so the TBI regulator would knock the high pressure down to the right psi?

yup. Some have had the 255 unit actuallu push extra fuel past the regulator but I have yet to see it. A good friend of mine runs the 255 without a hitch. Get the 190 if you want to be perfectly safe. It still supports over 600hp.

im going with a 190 this summer cause i dont want to deal with the potential problems of the 255. Not saying that it will cause problems but i have read were people are having problems keeping the fuel pressure down, and i dont think ill be going to TPI anytime soon.

Could someone give me a direct link to the 190 pump for camaros? All I can find in the 190 version is for imports and Mustangs.

Also another quick off topic question, I am looking for a TB spacer to raise my open air element off the distributor. Now I hear that wood and other composits are better then aluminum because they contuct less heat. My question is that how do those hold up over time? All that fuel being sprayed around that wood has to break down the wood wouldnt you think?

Save your money on a spacer and just buy another 20 open element. You do not want wood ones. I use an phenelic resin one but only because I am too lazy to get another open element.

stock pressure is between 9-13psi, and with a 190 pump it will more likely stay at 16psi since that it was your are currently at.

The stock one can muster about 13psi max. The 190 can support a multiport set-up that needs 50+. It is not a high pressure unit but can feed the need.

I'm sure you could get it up to 16 at idle or just sitting there not moving. The problem is when you put the engine under load. I could almost guarantee you that your stock pump is not putting out 16psi under load, it probably drops off sharply when you get on the throttle. Try to set it up so you can see your gauge from inside the car while you're driving.
