I'm a traitor...

as soon as I finally register here (had my bird for 9 years) and get all fired up wanting to build my 305 tbi or get a crate motor... I go and trade it in on a 00 formula TA. I even did a stupid sig in photoshop for myself and now that car is gone. sad, but I love my new ride

can anyone say where to go from here? is LS1.com the main hangout for my new type of car? I've never seen an active online user population like the one here.

anyhow, thanks all, this has been a great source of information for me over the years (lurking until recently), guess I won't be posting much more

Welcome to the "abandoned my thirdgen for a fourth" club. I've been hanging out here too long to leave, though. Plus, I've gotta keep my eye out for another two-tone grey '88 Sport Coupe Camaro...

Good luck with the new bird. Your old bird was pretty sweet looking man.

I really like LS1's. Took one for a td and it ran really nice. Smooth and quiet like the family buick but still performed when I stepped on it. They really did their homework when they designed those. The heads are lightyears ahead of the 2V/cyl ones that are commonplace on the older motors.

well I knew I couldn't be alone. I thought I'd read a few posts of guys doing this here. I'll probly never really leave tho, I love these cars too much... just won't have as much to say I guess.

Thanks, I tried my best to keep her in top shape. I miss it already... but it was 14 years old, lots of little things were starting to pile up. just couldn't deal with trying to fix everything going wrong while trying to mod it at the same time... when I estimate what I would pay to get my old car up to where I want it, well, it just made more sense to get something new altogether.

yeah I did quite a bit of reading on the 4th gen before I bought... the LS1 is really something... nice write up here (though it's corvette oriented)

I read about those replicated ports and was sold and 13.4 in the 1/4 stock is pretty nice for me, being a former 305tbi guy.

Good luck with your new ride. LS1's have to offer everything that 305 TBI's do not. Check out www.camaroz28.com, www.ls1.com, www.ls1tech.com for great LS1 info. The last two are the best in the world. Unfortunatly this has no tech value so I will have to shut her down. Good luck!
