First Post,Just have a few questions

Hello, I would first off like to say that you guys have helped so much in the trouble shooting process with my car, I have a 1990 Firebird, 184,000 miles on it a 305 TBI v-8, I've already redone the distributor, rotor, timeing, plugs and wires, I also have a k&n filtercharger, my question is what is the first step to a faster car, with a budget in mind, I have a cat back system on there, but that is the only non stock component, so where do I start? Also, I live in Illinois so it gets cold in the winter, but I wanted to either put a dual snorkle on or an open element, what would you all suggest?

Welcome aboard.

Take a look over on the TBI forum. Shifty and company have a stickie (Important/Useful) thread at the top of the forum. That will answer all your basic questions.

In fact, I'll move this over there, you read the stickie, then respond back here if you have more questions.

Sounds like your on the right track with the catback system. Next you should go with hedders. That will open up your engine and let it breath. Other things you should look into is rear end gear swap, Intake manifold and cam, Custom burnt chip, look at the ultimate TBI mods, those are free mods.

Welcome aboard! You have already done what is necessary to keep you car in good running condition. Take a look at this thread that will help you with what makes these cars tick. It should get you started. I encourage you to search for more info on a certian topic that you may have. If your search does not yeild the answer you are looking for re-post with a question. Because the questions you asked get covered on a daily basis and by the fact that I am confident that you will find your answer with your search, I will shut this down and leave a little of the homework for you.

Good luck and happy modding!

PM, IM or email me with any problems or questions you may have.

EDIT: By the way great looking car
