Anyone that has or has had an ADS Superchip...

Until I purchase everything needed for a DIY PROM I went ahead and bought an ADS Superchip off of Ebay for dirt cheap. The seller said it was never used and was bought for his 1991 RS 5.0L TBI and Manual Transmission. Well, my car is a 1992 RS with the exact specs so I'm assuming this is the same chip for a 92 as well. Trouble is, the area on the box that has what the chip is for is kinda worn off. I can make out "90-91 Camaro/Firebird TBI" but the rest is worn off too bad to read. The chip has the number "9002 A" on it. The ADS website doesn't help and I couldn't get them on the phone. Does anyone know if this is the right chip for my car and if I have to run a colder thermostat and high octane gas????

If I remember correctly, there is something different about the 92 model TBI cars computer setup. The chips hyperjunk sell are for 88, 89, 90-91, and 92. Therefor I'm sure there's some sort of difference that would make it to where they weren't interchangable.

As for the cooler thermostat and higher octane fuel...don't even worry about it. Hypertech, ADS, and the others don't change enough of the programming on the chip to even worry about changing anything else. Basically....the chips are a gimmic/junk and DIY is the only way to go...

Wish I would have known that sooner myself.

Hope I was of some help!
