350 TBI from fullsize chevy?
Would the motor from a 88-93 fullsize chevy work to replace my 305 tbi? They look almost identical and some of those trucks came with 220hp 350s
thanks

It should work. The only thing that you might have to change is the accesory brackets. the only difference in them should be the oil pan. but all you would have to do is pull the one off your 305 and put it on. Interelly the oil pump pickup might be different. I am not for sure about that. other than that every thing else should be the same. When you have them both out you might check the sensors also to make sure that they are the same.

It willl work fine, I did the exact same thing, i put a 95 350 pickup engine in my 89 RS, just take the accessory brackets and accessories of your 305 and they will bolt right up to the 350, (its the same block with same bolt holes) the oil pan from the truck will work too, its the same, I didnt have to do anything with the oil pickup or anything like that, and then I used the 305 intake, and distributor , its all the same, so good luck, and if the engine is a L05 (check the code sheet on the donor truck) then it will be a 220 HP engine, so have fun and the difference will be greatly noticed between the engines, the only real work you will have to do is tweaking the idle adjustment on the front of the TBI, the adjustment screw is behind a metal cap on the drivers side of the TBI unit, just pop off the metal cap and a small torx driver will allow you to adjust it, Have Fun

One other thing, make sure you get a 350 knock sensor (a must) or your car will not run right at all, and this would be a good time to replace the sensor that controls when the electric radiator fan comes on and off, since they seem to crap out alot,

Look here.
Bone stock (approx 200 fwhp), mid to high 15s. With modified exhaust, intake, cold air induction, timing and ECM, mid 14s should be easy. 4100+ lb similarly modified Bcars with LO5 run mid 15s, so you should be well into the 14s with the same type of mods.

Add an ESC module, and 350 injectors if they don't already come with your new LO5. The chip will be the key. Keep an eye on that fuel pressure. It may be a good idea to spend another 100 and get a pump that will maintain the pressure that motor will need at 4k rpm.

A stock TBI truck engine only makes 200 or 210 hp depending on the year. That is with a much less restrictive exhaust and air cleaner than a 3rd gen. The 350 does make about 30 ft/lbs more torque though.

Like XJCAMARO, I also have a 350 from a 95 truck under my hood. As stated in the previous replys you'll need to make sure you have the correct knock sensor for a 350 and a new chip. Of course if don't need to drop the L05 in immediately it would be the perfect time to swap in a better cam. Just like it's little brother the L05 has a very small cam.

I almost forgot
I had to change the flexplate out to the smaller one that was on the L03 in order for my starter to work. The 350 truck motor had a larger flexplate and I almost missed this observation before the swap. In the end I couldn't get the old one off the 305 and just bought a new one fom JEGS fairly cheap.

when it comes time for you to do chip tuning, let me know what you do to get a good tune out of it. My current chip in my LO5 sucks at higher rpm (mostly around 50+mph) it literally chugs around and hesitates pretty badly. My LO5 is from an 88 truck and after i did the knock, 350 injectors, and esc it came out lean. Anyways goodluck on the swap, mine was straight forward so nothin to worry about.
