Alternative to stock air cleaner box ?
Hey i was wondering if this might work a little better than the stock choker air box on the TBI models:
If you took one of those carb intakes, like the kind you see on Ebay for TBI trucks and used Just the part that sits over the TBI and run a pipe down to a stock airbox from a TPI car (with the dual filters) and maybe get a bit better airflow and cooler air for close to nothing.
Im sure it might not perform as well as say an open element housing, but it would probbably be better than the stocker.
Do you think it would work better ?
Not that im going to do it i just thought about it today....

Lots of people have their own versions of this. Try a search or two for cold air TBI or along the lines of that. You will see all kinds of modifed TPI set-ups. Some of those links can be found in the new to TBI sticky above.
