unsolved code 43 problem?

I have searched and cannot solve.
My ecm throws a code 43 under pe mode, so it fails with the knock test. ( as far as Im understanding with the posts.) Aparently this is common with the 305 TBI. Well, I swaped in a 350, using the stock manifold, 350 injectors, 350 prom chip, 305 ks, and 305 esc. I tested esc, it sees a clean ground, wire going to ecm is fine ( ohm tested), ks wire is fine ( ohm tested), ks is altering ohms when engine is knocked on ( so Im assuming ks is fine) the esc is getting 12 volts in terminal B, throwing 9 volts out from black wire terminal C ( signal to ecm or from ecm) but only .04 volts with key on engine off. Terminal D is ground, which is healthy. Terminal E is for the ks and is fine.

Could this be possibly from the fact my ks is for a 305 and not a 350. I have heard problems with this, but only on the TBI. Was not sure if it was true though. My snap-on scan tool says no knock, even when I hold the rpm at 1500-2000, in drive, while tapping on block. Tryed grounding out sensor, still scan says no dice?!
Whats the deal guys?
I tested my brother's (onebinky) esc on my car and same results.
Any thoughts or questions?

You need to get a 350 knock sensor and esc module. I believe the knock sensor picks up on the sounds of knock based on the bore size of the engine. That's why there are different knock sensors for each. You need to get the proper sensor.

The code will get thrown if there is runaway knock or if the ECM runs the knock test and gets no knock. If your scanner is not detecting knock that is probably because it's performing the knock test and getting no knock, so it throws the code.

The ESC module was only required for the 305 TBI engine in 1992. You didn't specify if you had a TPI set-up or if you were still running a TBI set-up on a 350 engine. If you are running a TPI set-up, you can take the ESC module out of the circuit.

Thanks for all your help guys, Its still the TBI setup, but with the 350 Injectors. Im gonna buy a new ks, and if that still dont work, then i will pick up a esc also. Thanks again for all your help!

If you get one you have to get the other. The knock sensor is essentially a microphone that listens for knock and sends its "recordings" to the ESC module which interprets the sound to decide if it's knock. You need both from a 350.

Yup. It is acutally an accelerometer that sends a voltage output to the ECM. The voltage recieved represents a certain amound of knock.

That makes sense because after I had put in the hew knock sensor, it seems to be running a little bit better, but still has the ses light come on and kills performance. Do you know of anyone who carries this part besides the dealer, because from dealer is $76. ( ouch!) So If anyone knows, tried Murray's Auto Parts, guy couldnt even find the part!

Thanks again guys!
