Fuel Pumps

This kit is for the Camaro/Firebird L98/TPI:

This kit is for the Camaro/Firebird LT1

I know the L98 kit will work with a TBI application.

In the pictures, it appears that the LT1 kit has a larger outlet on the pump and larger hose/tube. Is this an illusion because it is flex tubing versus rubber?

If it is indeed a larger outlet and hose, couldn't this be adapted to a TBI application to provide more volume (provided a larger fuel line in the float/sending unit assy?

This brings up another question; is there another GM application that has a float/sending unit assy that could be substituted for the standard TBI unit?

the racetonix kits are very nice. I've installed one in a friends GTA with a 383/miniram/AFR build-up. The L98 for the forced induction, is more pump that you will need for any TBI build-up. If you max that thing out, its probably time to look at a fuelcell / external pump combo.

and why would you need to substitute the float/sending unit?

I want to say yes but I cannot recal the info I once had on this. As far as I know any of the Gen II pumps cannot be used. You would have to implement the whole pickup/sending assebmly and hence your question.

So, is it an optical illusion that the LT1 pump has a bigger outlet and hose?

I can adapt if needed as far as fuel line size in the pickup float assy if the LT1 pumps do have a larger hose.

What I'm getting at is the ability to provide more volume

you volume is going to be limited to the smallest point in the system. If the chassis lines are no bigger than on an LO3 car, having a bigger pump outlet gets you nowhere.

Understood. That's why it'll be plumbed with -8 AN line

Noisy

Plus, like to retain some resemblance of "factory"
