is it normal for a tbi spacer plate to cause bogging and loss of power if you don't have stock chip?

Check for vacuum leaks around the spacer as well as full movement of the throttle spring.

 

I found the problem, only one injector was working, it blew a fuse due to a short, problem solved.

I'm a new member and have a basic question. Does any Company manufacture a spacer plate, appoximately 1" to 1.5". Eventually I'm installing a new motor; however, would like some emmidiate increase in hp. Thanks.

 

There are places that make them, try ebay look for xtremefi they sell spacers not sure the size. Turbocity.com has spacers, and so does cfm-tech.com

I haven't ever heard of anyone getting any significant gains from a spacer though. I'd do one of the other cheap or free mods before going with a TB spacer.

 

I would stay away from a 1" tall spacer. You will more than likey have hood clearance issues unless you run an aftermarket hood. You will also have throttle linkage issues that will take some serious tweaking to make the throttle actuate normally. Spacers are good as in you want as much plenum volume as possible. However, they are tough to work with since they are a pain to install and maintain a leak free TBI with proper throttle movement.
