It depends on what your comparing the gas pedal hardness to. Most 80s and 90s GM vehicles (including S-10s, Blazers, Camaros, etc.) have stiff gas pedals compared to late-model cars, especially Fords (for some reason
). I know it's hard to explain over the internet, but how hard is it?
The aftermarket 670 TBI is worth buying, but not if you have a stock motor. The stock TBI unit can handle a decent 350, with the right injectors. It would be more trouble than good than to install that aftermarket unit on a stock motor.

its just very different because i used to drive a 1994 buick century with the 3100 SFI and that one was very easy to push
Buick specs: 3100 sfi v6 supercharged 245 hp. Wrecked it caught on fire.

I'd try lubricating the gas pedal hinge points and check and make sure that the throttle cable isn't twisted, stretched, or bent or anything like that. Check the TBI unit, too, where the throttle cable attaches to the throttle linkage and lubricate the springs on the throttle shaft of the TBI unit with a little bit of oil and see if the pedals any better.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's just the way the gas pedal is. Like I said, most of GM's 80's and early 90's cars (that I have driven, at least) have stiff gas pedals. It always takes a while to get used to, compared to the newer cars.

I agree. Also make sure that the carpet and such is not hitting the pedal. The biggest thing that makes a stiff pedal is corrosion and funk on teh throttle spring. Clean it off and put some WD40 on it. You will be shocked how gummed up the TBI unit can become over time.

Theres this shop that is going to clean my entire throttle body in this ultrasonic bath. Other people have said that it makes the thing look brand new. He's in Indianapolis so if your close by I can give you his number.
