Still dont think TBI's good?

mostly stock 305 TBI,
My burn out....
headers , ported TBI unit, 8mm wires , built 700r4 with stage 2 shift kit she only runs 15.4s in the 1/4

id just like every one to know that TBI is great,

i have thot about swapping my engine out for a 350 vortec, but the one i wanted is now gone, so far i decided to stay with the 305 but plan on throwing a few more bucks at it...
i would like to throw on 305 TPI heads on it with a tunnel ram intake every thing ported to match, ZZ4 cam, 1.6 roller rockers and a 454 unit....
i think id see some good HP and TQ numbers per dollar ratio:
and i think that high 12s or mid 13's are something i can expect
iv also ran across a ford 9" rear end with mini spools that has came out of a 3rdgen that
im more then likely getting,

so that's what's going on with me so far havent post on this side of the boards for sometime now

I love TBI! So far the mods i've done to the TBI unit are: ultimate mods, fi spacer, 3/8" manifold spacer, vafpr and open element w/x stream lid. I'm thinking about upping the injectors....But I've done a bunch more to my L03...And It's getting fairly quick I agree, TBI is sweet.

Mods sound great, but what about the tuning? You're claiming high 12's, and thats quite the claim... exactly what type of gears will you be running to achieve this?

I'd expect high to mid 14's on street tires with decent gears. You may be able to squeak in high 13's with 3.73's or 4.11's with a set of slicks and a 3000 rpm stall.

TBI is fine with me.

Yeah! I also love my L03 Sport Coupe. I don't need to do the quarter mile in 10 sec. anyway, this town is so crowded what's the point. They would yank my license if I could have 400 horsepower under the hood.

Later.

Sounding good, NEEDS. Liking the exhaust sound, and yes that's a nice burnout. Do you have a switch to turn off your back brakes? Used to do that in my Camaro, then I noticed when I slammed on the brakes the car spun out--no back brakes.

Yep, I'm liking my TBI car too. Runs so good, and even mostly stock it hauls. Couldn't believe the difference fuel filter made, and plug wires. For a while I was thinking motor swap, but my mill is so tight I'm just gonna keep modding it.

(Note to NEED, check out last month's Super Chevy? Tail mounted turbo, goes where your muffler would, with the air filter there too, and intake air plumbed to the front. No intercooler needed because it's hanging in the wind. Nice. And ExtremeVelocity makes a TBI intake to handle the max boost.)

Where I work it's 99% turbocharged vehicles, and we have talked about that unit quite a bit. Idea is great, but just THINK about the turbo lag you would get! IMO if your gonna throw on a turbo, put it where it should go...

also i think that filter is in a bad spot!!! you run through one deep puddle of water then you are done!!! can you say hydro locked!
maybe you could cut a hole into the trunk and mount the kn inside the car???
