Rest in peace, L03.
133k miles and I spun a bearing. It lasted an awful long time suffering through teenage abuse. The previous owner bought it when he was 16, drove it for about 40k, then sold it at age 20 to me, who was 16 at the time. I am currently 20 and I have put over 30k on it... Of this, 8k were with the modified valvetrain, increasing my redline by over 1000 rpm.
Do not take your L03's stock bottom end to over 5000 rpm for safety.

Seriosuly though, I'd say 8+ years of hot-rodding around like a teenager is pretty damn good for an engine. Hell, I do it alla time and I *seem* all grown up and stuff.

Why not just use your whole top end on a 350 shortblock? You could pick up a 350 block super cheap and make more power than you were before with that little 305.

that would be nice if you got a 4th gen car but my friend has one and he told me that there to expensive to mantian. he spent $2K on repairs to his. it was running rich and the dealership had to do all these test to figure it out. Its because of there computer stuff. our cars dont have that much problem with that.

LT1s seem fairly easy to diagnose. Well, not as easy as a thirdgen, but yeah. The opti-spark is the only thing I'd be concerned about with a 4thgen.
