one injector not working
one injector not working
i think i posted this in the wrong board at first. but here goes.
One of my fuel injectors is not spraying. I checked all the fuses, and for just a second swapped the harness around between injectors and the one that wasn't working did and the one that did work didn't. so the injector is fine but something is wrong with the wiring. I checked the harness and it is fine and getting a good connection.
how should i check for voltage on the lines and what could possible causes be. thanks

The only way to really find out if the wiring is bad is to check the continuity between the injector connector and the ecm harness with a DVM or a test light. I believe that there is only power at the injectors with the key in the on position. If you hook the test light in place of the injector and ground the wire at the ecm connector, the light should come on
With the key on, measure the voltage at the pins of each connector with the negative probe on something grounded like the engine block. One of the pins in each inj. connector should have battery voltage. If thats ok, and the wires that leads to the ecm appear ok, then that leaves the ecm itself as the broken link.
