edelbrock TBI multi-point conversion

the Edelbrock3501 EFI kit for TBI small blcok chevys. this kit is described as being for the trucks but would it also work on the f-body engine? i dont really see why not.it also says for 5.7 litre i thougt they used the same ECM,TBI, and what not? if this conversion would work i think that would be a nice way to go

The trucks use the 7747 ECM, we use the 8746 (or 8063 '88). Whatever PROM they sell with the package won't match up, also the trucks had bigger injectors and a 350 to further throw off the tune. I'm not really sure what Edelbrock includes in that package.

If it were me and i wanted to go multiport, I'd just get a good carb manifold, get injector bungs welded in, use the TBI without the injector pod to meter the air and run a 7730 ECM.

Yeah I've seen it before, I'm just saying it'd probably be cheaper and more modifiable if you did what I said. You can pick whatever intake you want then (I dont know how well that Edelbrock manifold flows). Looks like you got a stock engine though, you'll want to beef that up a bit more before something like this is needed anyways. It's a pretty cool setup though, just think there might be more cost effective ways of getting the same thing.

the problem i am running into is i plan on modifying my engine. if i buy heads i will see almost nothing from the heads until i change my cam and intake manifold and vice versa.

Just email the edelbrock tech department, they were pretty helpful, unlike some other companies. I am going to run the #3506 kit for tbi mpfi conversion for vortec heads. I have a 94 tbi truck though. It's a single plane manifold too : )

going on a -
355cid
scat 4340 6" rods bushed
speed pro hyper flattops
pro topline vortec heads 3/8 screw in studs 120lb springs
9.9:1 CR
I have a comp cam 268h, think i'll be switching to one of the xtreme energy 4x4 cams
