Non EGR intake gaskets with EGR heads

I was wondering who runs non EGR intake gaskets with EGR heads. They are a few bucks cheaper and I don't plan on keeping EGR here much longer. I am only getting rid of it for astheitc reasons and I will take care of it in the chip. I figured I would just block off that cavity in the heads and be done with it. I just thought I would try a different intake gasket kit for a change and saw these when i was part shopping. Thoughts?

The gasket would have to cover the entire port in the intake and heads with ample overlap, or itll leak air/exhaust. There may also be heat problems as there is exhaust there where the paper gasket is exposed. If it seals, though, it likely wouldnt be a problem IMO. Also, dont forget the block-off plate

Another thing Ive heard of people doing is filling the egr ports in the heads with red hot molten aluminum. Not something you can do on the car, obviously, but If I had egr heads and I had them off for some other reason, Id consider it.

The intake gaskets Shifty is talking about has a metal block off plate made into it. You also have the option of knocking it out if you wanted to keep your egr.

Excellent info. I was wondering about that because I feared what Dimented mentioned. I may just keep it but I like the looks of a clean TBI install. I will most likely fab up my own block off plate since it appears jegs stopped selling theirs. Thanks guys
