Definitely a TBI head.

The 191 casting is swirl intake port head, [EDIT] 64 cc chamber if according to AJ_92RS (thx), from a 350 from 1987+ (perimeter bolt valve covers) from either light trucks or passenger cars (Caprice up to/including 1990).

The 191s aren't considered a performance head, but then again none of the factory heads of that era (mid 80s) were really that good (in stock form) except the aluminum L98 heads from 1988+. Porting the 191s can make them respectable (like the 193 garage casting work of Fast355), and they should work as well as iron L98 heads based on the evidence from other TGO DIY porters.

HTH.

ok thanks guys, definitively the L98 heads is better than t.b.i heads what the compression ratio with 305 t.p.i 1987 on one 350, 0.020 oversize, flat piston, and fel pro head gasket, thanks.

It's not enough to say "L98 head" because that could mean either the iron head (083 casting) or the aluminum one --- and there have been at least three revisions to that head, each a flow-improvement over the preceding versions.

The aluminum L98 heads are better than the TBI heads. The iron L98 heads are not --- the iron L98 heads flow about the same as the TBI heads as shown in the garage ported 193 casting thread.

As far as the CR is concerned --- I leave it to you to work the math out.
