Is the stock TBI Fuel Pump's 20 PSI rating regulated by voltage or is it just a flat out different pump than a TPI car's pump?

If regulated by voltage is it the ECM or the Relay that regulated how much voltage the pump is getting?

 

The tbi pump is different than tpi, niether pump is regulated by voltage ( they both get a full 12v).

I did it all myself, lots of hours. The thing that made it difficult is the slow sample rate of my ECM, the newer ECM's sample about 8x faster. Which would make tunning 10x faster and easier.

I now use carb for fuel, but the ecm still does every thing else.

 

Oh ok. What made you go with a carb over TBI? Just wondering.

Its been posted bofore that the 454 tbi can only support about 360 fwhp.

So I bolted on the 750 4barrel, and it felt like I gained about 50-60 hp.

 

Wow! That is nuts. Are carbs really that much better for power? How is your gas mileage in your truck now?

Don't get me wrong, If I was going make a 300hp daily driver, I would stick with TBI.

My fuel mileage is down a little.

 

Down a little like 2-3mpg or like 6-8 mpg?

2-3 mpg, but its not my daily driver, I only put on 300 miles a year. So when I do drive it, I tend to be little heavy on the throttle.

 

That is not to bad, only 2 - 3 mpg. Do you have any more plans for the truck? Maybe some nitrous or a blower?

Diesel performance takes up most of my time/money. Its pretty fun going through a mud hole with 1200 ft/lbs of torque.

 

Holy crap that is a lot of torque!! How many toys do you have? The diesel and the 1500? Must be nice I have a wife and four kids so my project is slow but...well slow
