Dyno Results. You should also know about the problems with the tranny that would explain some of this graph located here.

First things first with the engine, I'm ditching the after market PROM and dialing my timing back to 0*. Transmission is next...

Other?

That doesn't make sense to me.

125 RWHP!?!?

Hmmm, I would ditch that chip, go to the stock one, and then try bumping the timing up to 4*.

Sounds to me like you need to get into Datalogging. I would guess you are getting a couple knocks and possibly running rich at the same time.

Don't get discouraged, this can be an easy fix.

Yep. Yep.

The actual comment was, "You are throwing enough fuel for 2 cars."

I'm surprised there are no "I told you so's".

The owner of the Dyno just lost his tuner. He has all the equipment and wants to learn how to tune ECM's for ODB2 and ODB1 cars. He's willing to give deals on the dyno for experience tuning so he can offer this as a service. He's knows the motors but just needs to know how to translate the knowledge to a chip to make our cars purr.

Since I'm actually at 8* advanced now, I'm going to back down to 0* and the stock PROM while hoping the engine isn;t worse for wear because of the crappy chip (and my ignorance). Also, I can go back to regular unleaded. Yay!

with 8* of advance, and an aftermarket chip, I have a sneaking feeling, that you knock sensor was going nuts, and pulling so much timing out, that it wouldn't perform.

Do you have access to anyway to datalog?

as for the tranny issue, the auto's do that, some dyno operators have more expiance with 700R4's, and can find that magic spot where it won't kick down, I have also seen some disconnect the TV cable, because nothing else will keep it from trying to downshift.

Soon. I think "K.C." (the owner of the dyno) knew that this testing would lead to tuning gigs. I'm looking for the data connection now. He has the hardware to burn and of course the Dyno. I wish he was closer than an hour away.

Is there a cure for this problem?

You should be fine with a 3" pipe, I had it in my head that you were going 3.5" all the way. Ya needs a tune though! I found a good source for a dyno in San Jose:

A modified kickdown valve. B&M makes one.
