ehhh....

the 350 is superior to the 305 in so many ways. if you take the time and money you would save going 350 you will offset any tiny mpg savings.. and you can tune either to get excellent mileage especially with the tranny's that came in gen 3's.

the only reason i would build my 305 seriously is because it's allready in the car, thats it.. as soon as i make lots of cash ill build my 350.. just, run from the lo3 as fast as you can, its a slippery slope if you start working on them...

You should never rebuild a 305. That is unless you like to pay more to get less. Often times it is more money to rebuild a 305 than it is a 350. You would only be out the core charge for the block which is cheap to begin with. You can run TBI on just about any motor you want. You can easily have a 180 to 300 hp 350TBI. The key will boil down to part selection, injector sizing, and chip work.

i should be getting near that with my future combo... its essentially an L98 longblock with TBI and an LT1 cam. The heads will be machined a little bit to help accept the lift and to flow a little better. i paid total for everything, motor, cam, heads, rockers... etc about 1700... and the motor was brand new. if you get a used or rebuilt L98 longblock, should be a lot cheaper...

300 - 325 is pretty easy to make man. Schwarz is pretty much doing what I have done. As soon as I get some numbers I will let you know post them. I am pretty interested in what I am making also. I think that I am probably making those numbers at the crank right now.
