Sensor
What sensor is on the passenger side head with the single post in the center. My buddy broke it off installing headers and now I bought a temp guage sensor but it doesn't fit. Thanks

it is the fan switch. It is a coolent temp sensor, that switches the fan on.
(I assume you are talking abotu the sensor between the #6 and #8 cyl.

Wrong Sensor
I went to the parts store and looked at the sensor for the fan switch as well as the coolant temp. sensor. They both had the wrong connection on them. The one I need is between the 6 & 8 cylindar on on the passenger head but it only has one pin in the middle. It also has a round plastic connector around the pin. Anyone know what it is?

The only other sensor in the head is the one for the temp gauge in the cluster. This one will be smaller and have a round brass terminal on the end of it. If they hand you this one instead of the F/S that you want, at least youll know what it is. Also make sure that the F/S you get has 3/8" NPT threads. Some older sensors and what not may have 1/2" NPT threads. Doubt this will effect you but you never know what the guy behind the counnter will hand you.

If that is the fan switch, what is the sensor b/w cyl 1 and 3. I don't have a plug that will go the fan switch but i had a sensor there that also looked broken off.

Could be broken, my connector also broke when I pulled my motor, I think something smashed it against the header. Look around that area or under the manifolds for a loose wire, probably it.
