does this look bad?
k fellas i just found this on ebay and dont know if that discoloration is a bad sign or not....what would cause this cause i was under the impression it was hard to wear down a hydrolic roller cam unless there is a valve train failure of some type....it looks like they may be some type of wear lines on it. i emailed him and he said its still in great shape and explained to me what how he knew that but i didnt quite follow what he meant...some insight on this would be wonderful cause i got outbid on the last one i got and im tryin to pick one up at a good price and havent seen one on here lately.

yeah thats what i thought i didnt know how it would get like that...is it even possible to use mechanical lifters on a roller cam, if so he may have done that...lol...i dunno though i dont know much about that stuff mabey he just used the wrong springs that r way off.

I dunno if it looks bad or not. I don't see any link to the picture or the picture itself... so exactly how is everyone supposed to give you thier opinion on it or thir thoughts if they can not see what you are talking about?

i dont know where the link went i swear it was up there maybey a mod removed it i will put it back up just incase i didnt the first time but i coulda swore i did here it is again...if a mod removes it and if they did the first time i will just leave it off i guess...

if u save this image as then blow it up it has the same thing as the other one had a light colored line on each lobe i dont know if thats just where the lifters make contact and oil doesnt get there as much or what but heres the link to this one again im affraid to bid w/ out knowin what causes these marks...he says its from a 96 bird

I would probably tend to think it is the wear marks left by the lifters. You will probably always have those type of wear marks on a used cam.. the more miles it has on it the bigger the wear marks.
