What would I run in the 1/4 if...

I have an 89 LO3 Camaro with a 2.73 Rear
I did the open Element Filter, and gutted the AIR system
Running timing at 2* Advanced (would go higher but too expensive to run 93 octane)
I run 16.46/7's all day long, but can't hook up off the line

What would I run if I did this...
L98 Heads
Edelbrock manifold
50mm TB
55# Injectors
Open Element Filter
3" Functional Cowl Hood
3.23 10 Bolt Posi

Is there any way to estimate hp?
How about a 1/4 mile time?

Car: cleanest '86 sport coupe around!!
Engine: 355ci twin 66mm turbos on e85
Transmission: built rmvb th400 w/ t-brake
Axle/Gears: 3.23
I would guess around mid to high 14's in the 1/4 with those mods...i don't see the reason for 55# injectors on an otherwise stock l98 though but im sure you'll get some more input from others.

15s if you could hook.
For one you still have the stock cam. For two, IMO, and head/cam swap isn't worth it (finacially or time wise) to be running 14s or 15s...

What top end mods would you reccomend?

I would like to keep the stock 305 block in the car, it's a low mileage motor.

I'm not looking to run 10s with the car, I'd be more then happy with mid/low 14's, I'm just looking to make it faster than stock.

I would recommend that you stay away from L98 heads and think about getting some 416 heads or 081 heads because your gonna lose compression. But your heads arent your biggest problem... you should think about changing your cam.

If your happy w/ mid to low 14s, then think about an lt1 cam, port your heads, and tune your chip along with those mods then youll have a mid to low 14 sec car easily.

I have no clue of how to tune my car, it's all jibberish to me... thats the only reason I dont want to do a cam...

unless you know anyone that will burn chips according to a list of parts...

If you want to go faster on an injected car you have to learn how to tune the computer otherwise you'll end up spending money in making it run crappier/spend money on getting somebody else to tune it. For now get some LCA's, relocation brackets, gears and some drag radials and focus on getting it to hook, you could probably get it into the 15's on traction/gears alone.

I do know someone that will do that but the real key in learning how to tune is the fact that you can perfect your tune, you will never get it right the first time especially from a list of parts.... i have tuned my car 5 times and i still have issues.

Thats what I am afraid of... building a car and dumping $$ into it, and having a crap tune and it never runs correctly.

I think I may just go carb... computers scare me
