breather size?

hi,

just al small question::

what is the size of our valvecover holes?
i put on a open element and a push-in breather but the breather was too big for the hole.
it was a breather for 1,22'' holes.
the grommet was out and stuck so now i can't drive pffff.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the holes are 1" (don't have stock valve covers to check). I do know that the holes in the grommets for the breather and PCV valve are 3/4". If the old grommet in the valve cover for the breather is good, you could just find a 3/4" push-in breather to use. That's what I had to do.

The breather on the passenger side valve cover should be a tight 3/4" with the grommet in place.

I use the breather now.
I used a course piece to make the breather fit right.

If you show the engine you are fine. Since so many GM vehicles came with TBI engines we are bound to have people with TBI questions from other vehicles. These questions can be applied to the F-bodies as well so it really isn't straying off topic.

Thanks,

the sound is with the k&n 14'' much better.
i think that it's running al little better but within 2 weeks i'm going to log the truck again.
i must first make a fuel pump swap to a Walbro255 and a high stall converter.

I think that a l03/l05 are the same(on the outside)
Maybe you see another hole on the passenger side but that's for the pcv-valve.
The pcv-valve is still there but because i went to an open element i use a breather for my crankcase vent.

The covered breather was because i live in Holland(Europe)and there is little choice between them ,besides it looks good.
