I've run the non air-gap RPM, works great. I'll have to warn you even with the exhaust crossover in mine I could get the TB to ice over in really cold weather. Nothing too major, but the throttle would stick slightly open from time to time. I would imagine the air-gap would be much worse about this.

If you have a stock hood getting that to fit is going to be a nightmare. My brother barely got a GM performance vortec carb intake to fit with a 2" filter, and it's a good 1/4" shorter than my RPM.

Yes.

I had icing of the throttle blades on a 50* day (with a CAI).

Also gained nothing at the track over a hogged out Edel TBI intake. My cam is only rated to 5200; with a larger cam there may have been an improvement.

When fluids or gases get compressed they gen hotter, and when they decompress they colder. This basic theory is what governs A/C. The same thing happens with our TBI. When the fuel is sprayed it cools rapidly and if the conditions are right it will freeze almost instantly to the throttle body.

I also run a air gap on my vortec 350 in my 92 rs and it works great.
