lower temp fan switch

lower temp fan switch

I just ordered a 195 degree on and 185 degree off fan switch for my LO3 and just wanted to make sure im not hurting the engine or computer. Is this fine guys? Thanks.

Yep. Along with a lower thermostat this is a good thing to do. My stat is for 180* (I think).

not yet, is it necessary right away and does it rquire tuning to change the thermostat?

I'd throw a 180* one in there while you are working on it. Tuning would be best but you'll be ok without it...

Ok well im slam broke since i ordered wires too, so could i drive it for a while with this switch and the stock thermostat?

A 180° thermostat on the stock tune will be fine. I would not go with anything lower.

I just put that same fan switch in my 89 RS TBI and i love it, my car used to run up above 210* or warmer before the fan would turn on and only cool down a little and shut off, now i dont think my car gets over 200* anytime, its great! i love it and i have a regular thermostat in it!
