Nice new board....

We bought another f body and I have a question.
It runs but not to good, it’s a 305 tbi 1988
When I jump the a and b in the ADL, I get nothing, I mean nada,not even a 12.
Normally when we jump the 87 z28 with tpi at the ADL we get a 12 3 times just to show its reading and communicating. But nothing on the new 88 tbi car.
Got any ideas? Toasted ecm?? If so, why would it run at all/

It will run in a limp home mode if the chip is loose or missing or bad.

I'm not sure if the ecm has taken a crap what effect it has on it. Did you check for loose wiring. And I guess first check to see if the ses light works at all.

I think we got it figured out. He posts on our local PNW board. He had the B and the G pin on the ECM mixed up, so he was not actualy grounding the ALDL circuit.

Actualy, It is a nice sunny day out here, I think it got into the 60's also! To bad I was stuck at work all day.

 

What no rain! You are going to have to relearn how to drive all over without that H2O on the roads

 

Yeah. Traffic was all sorts of backed up today. I guess people didn't know what to do with no water on the roads.
