Need help picking out a cam for my 305 TBI

I need help picking out a good cam for my 92 firebird with a 305 TBI motor in it. I am looking to upgrade it a little more than stock. I was also told i could upgrade the TBI to a TBI off of a 454 670 cfm. Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can swap over the TBI from the 454 engines. You may need to switch computers or something though. Run a search and find out.

Before you consider a cam swap you need to have a few other mods. You need to have at least a full exhaust from headers back. You should also consider some traction mods and gears (the stock peg leg 2.73's you have are terrible and will not work well with a cam swap). The most important thing that you need to look into is chip work. You cannot do a cam swap without it. Don't bother with off the shelf mail order tunes. They won't suffice. Chip work is more important than any other mod you do to these cars. It is also a good idea to upgrade your fuel pump. The stock TBI pump will not support higher pressures that you will need when you start tuning in the fuel needs of your cammed motor.

You won't need to upgrade your TBI unit until you have extensive mods (ported heads and big cam).

Shifty, what would be a good Fuel Pump to go with?...is there 1 or 2 that are know to work well with oure cars, or that are commonly used that have had good results?

Walbro 190's or 255's are the ones most people go with.
