Few cam questions

1) What are the dims and numbers on a stock cam on the 92 305 TBI?

2) What aspect of a cam controls what RPM you hit peak TQ?

Looking for:

I want to change the duration to give it a mild lope and lower the peak TQ to 1500-2000 RPMs. Im not looking for HP TQ or powerband increases, just change where it gets the max TQ

Oooooooor is there a cam out there made specifically for this?

Your goals are contradictory, in order to lower the torque peak you want to decrease your duration and overlap, and to give an engine that big cam lope you have to increase your durtation and overlap this will also move the power band up. To even get a lope your power band is going to have to go up by about 1000 to 1500 rpm.

The other problem is that the stock LO3 cam is the smallest cam ever made....seriously. If you need your torque lower then stock you need a bigger engine. You may try adding long tube headers they seem to help torque tremendously under torque peak.
